Founding Member and Producing Director

RIK WALTER directed UP’s inaugural production, All the Best Ingredients by Artistic Director James Bosley in May 2011, and has produced the bulk of UP’s productions since then. He has appeared in UP’s K Comma Joseph by Kirby Fields, Broad Channel and Epic Poetry both by Mr. Bosley, as well as several UP readings and workshops. He has also directed UP projects for the Ft. Tryon Medieval Festival, various 10-minute plays in Inwood’s favorite Irish pubs (farewell, my bonny Irish Eyes and Piper’s Kilt), and volunteers as acting coach and Shakespeare instructor with Inwood’s Pied Piper Children’s Theatre. Rik was an original member and tireless work-horse of The Present Company, founders of the New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), in which he returned in 2016 as Operations Manager for their 20th anniversary year. Regionally, he has played the Walnut Street Theatre, Orlando Shakes, Connecticut Rep, Two River (“Best Actor in a Comedy”), Ivoryton, Chester, Bickford and Luna Stage, among others; as well as tours and festivals in Ireland, Scotland and Germany. He has appeared on “Unforgettable”, “30 Rock”, “American Masters”, all the “Law & Order” franchises (several times), some soaps that are no longer on the air, and a smattering of indie films. Rik has been a resident of Inwood since 1993, where he founded Men Without Garages, an interdisciplinary discussion group with beer. Vero nil verius. www.rikwalter.com
