JAMES BOSLEY – FOUNDING MEMBER AND ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
His play Fun, first developed at the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, was given its first production at MCC Theater in NYC, and has had many subsequent productions in the U.S and abroad. It has been translated into German, Romanian, Flemish (Flemish!) for productions in those lands. Fun was also produced at the Cyclone Theatre in Sydney, Australia for which no translation was necessary, he hopes. Fun is published by Dramatic Publishing Company. The film version of Fun – for which he wrote the screenplay – was shown in competition at Sundance and other festivals, and opened commercially at the Film Forum in NYC. His screenplay for it was nominated for an IFP “Spirit Award.”
His plays have also been produced by MCC Theater, The Williamstown Theatre Fringe Festival, Qwirk Productions, Emerging Artists, The Ice Factory, Bad Rep, Red Earth, She’s In The Attic (San Francisco) The Burbage (L.A.), Impact Theatre with the Fay Simpson Dance/Theatre, and others. He has won residency fellowships from Yaddo, The MacDowell Colony and the Edward Albee Foundation. He is a proud Native New Yorker.
